We recently had a small wedding in the Aghadoe Heights and would highly recommend the entire experience!!! From initial planning stages with Marie (wedding planner) and the work Michael and the team put in on the wedding day itself it was seamless. The attention to the detail was amazing and we had such a fantastic, relaxed day. Thanks so much and continue doing what you all do so well!!!

We recently got married at the hotel and if there was an option to give a 6-star rating here, I would. Seriously, the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish.
We stayed 3 nights and held the wedding ceremony in the penthouse suite, a drinks reception in the view bar, and then the main meal in the newly refurbished garden room. During each stage, the staff were always on hand to assist and make the event special.
A huge thank you to Marie for coordinating the wedding. From our very first meeting with her back in February right up till when we left on Sunday, everything was covered and we always felt like she would go the extra mile for us and that we were in very experienced and professional hands.
Both our families loved our stay in the hotel as well and all commented on how excellent the food was throughout and how attentive the staff were over the 3 days to any request or ask that came up.
A special word about the penthouse suite. It's an amazing space and experience staying there. The hot tub is a must-try.
Even during the pandemic, the staff did a great job at social distancing and made everyone feel safe and comfortable.
Thanks to Marie and all the staff. We look forward to a return in the near future.

“From the moment we walked into the penthouse we knew it was the perfect option for our intimate wedding. Having a wedding party of just 36 people required something a little different and memorable. We are so glad we chose The Aghadoe Heights Hotel. The planning process was made easy and stress-free by Marie who was always available to us and so helpful at every stage. It will always remain a special place to us”

“We got married in the Aghadoe Heights in July after a relatively short engagement of ten months. Over the years we had spent many weekends in the hotel and had always had a wonderful time there, for us it was a no-brainer that we should host our wedding party in our special place, Aghadoe.
The Aghadoe Height’s setting, food, staff and service are the ultimate five star experience. Many of our friends who joined us from the UK for the wedding still refer to it as the best day of their lives! We can’t recommend it highly enough as a wedding destination. It offers something a little more exclusive to your standard wedding offering.
It was evident to us from our first appointment with our wedding planner, Marie, that we had made the right decision. The whole process was so enjoyable and stress-free. We were living in the UK at the time but it made no difference, we simply liaised regularly over email about the finer details of the day. I can safely say that every request we made, it was met positively and accommodated. Marie ran through everything with us a number of times and provided some wonderful suggestions throughout the planning process; it ultimately ensured that the day worked so seamlessly. As neither of us are from Kerry, it was invaluable to receive recommendations of what works best. We opted for the exclusive Aghadoe wedding as we loved the idea of having all of our 190 wedding guests together in such a beautiful relaxed intimate setting.
The day itself was so beyond our wildest expectations. It was the most lavish party; the attention to the finer details was incredible. The whole day was managed with military like precision. The staff in the Aghadoe Heights are a wonderful bunch of people. The majority have been there for years; which is so rare in the hospitality sector. They really make you feel so welcome and couldn’t be more accommodating. From our visits over the years, we have grown to know many of them personally and it really adds to the whole experience, we simply couldn’t speak more highly of them.
From arrival at the hotel, after our wedding ceremony in the Cathedral, the drinks reception was just fabulously glamourous affair. There was something for everyone from Hendricks’s gin cocktails to strawberry daiquiris to a selection of beers. There was something for everyone. We have attended so many weddings over the years all over the country and I can safely say that the food in Aghadoe Heights is as good as you’ll get, it really is a five star luxury experience. One of our most enjoyable experiences in the lead up to the wedding was the food tasting experience at the hotel. The food on the day was impeccable and teamed with the ultimate silver service provided, it completely surmounted our expectations.
The setting of the hotel, on the Kerry lakes is so picturesque. As the Irish weather is so unpredictable we wanted to go with a venue that regardless of the weather on the day, we would be able to enjoy it. That’s the beauty of the Aghadoe Heights; on a rainy day tucked up in the hotel the view of the lakes remains enchanting. For us, sitting up in the Lake room during the wedding speeches looking out on the view with all of our nearest and dearest, it was just perfect. We decided to make the most of it and had our first dance out on the lawn in front of the hotel. It was one of my favourite memories from the day, it was just magical. We had wanted to do something a little different and Marie couldn’t have been more accommodating. It had been raining during the day and so we weren’t sure if it would be possible but there was a small dance floor assembled out on the lawn. It was marvellous, we had so much fun. Later in the evening, we enjoyed an intimate gig in the Heights Piano Lounge. It was wonderful, the room is an ideal size and the dancefloor was hopping all night!
The penthouse suite is another wonderful touch; we popped up numerous times to take a breather throughout the day. We tried our best to savour the whole experience, it was just perfect.
On our first wedding anniversary we returned and loved every minute of it. We plan to continue this ritual for many years to come and we look forward to returning this summer with our baby boy. Aghadoe Heights is the perfect wedding venue and we really couldn’t recommend it highly enough, it is the ultimate five star experience. All of the little touches combined to the most perfect day and fill us with the most incredible memories of our special day that we will always hold dearly.”

“From the moment we walked in the front door of Aghadoe Heights, we knew this was the venue. Our first impressions were immediately backed up when we met with Marie. From the first request from us, nothing was an issue. Whether we had a simple question right through to the organisation on the day, Marie and the team were on hand to make the day everything we wanted and so much more. The attention to detail by everyone involved left nothing to chance; from the menu tasting, which was an event in itself with the staff ensuring that we were satisfied with every detail on every plate and accommodating our every whim, to the moment we walked through the doors on the weekend itself when the staff took over and ensured we were fully at ease. We had the exclusive use of the hotel for our wedding which meant that our guests were served in the Lake Room. An amazing setting with an exquisite menu and first class service, there was not a single flaw. A seamless transition to the evening festivities was ensured as our guests were immediately catered for in the Heights Lounge following the meal. To this day our guests talk about it; a truly memorable day (and night). We enjoyed the use of the spa the following day, before the evening celebrations, it itself is a sanctuary; a haven of relaxation after a long day before. And how can we not mention the penthouse suite? A luxurious retreat that sits atop overlooking the Lakes of Killarney, a reason in itself to get married here! Flawless, spectacular and unforgettable, Aghadoe Heights will forever be a second home for us.”

“I am still coming down to earth from the excellent experience of our wedding at Aghadoe Heights Hotel on 29 April!
The panorama of the lakes and mountains from Aghadoe – I cannot find words that can do justice to how beautiful it is. Irrespective of the weather, it is so atmospheric, the view is constantly changing, and it challenges you to move your gaze – it draws you in and then it’s so hard to leave. This leads on nicely to the hotel itself – ‘it draws you in and then it’s so hard to leave!’
We have been to the hotel several times now, and each time we were impressed with all aspects of the quality and service we received. Any small issues we had were dealt with satisfactorily, and it is pleasing to see that there is also an ongoing programme of subtle refurbishment – we noticed improvements on each visit.
We had no hesitation choosing this hotel as the venue for our wedding (once we accepted that the unassuming exterior became completely irrelevant once you are inside) and we were not disappointed. The ceremony was held in the fabulous Penthouse suite, the main reception in the Garden Room, along with the Terrace Bar – this kept it interesting for our guests as we had arranged a variety of entertainments for them. The wedding breakfast meal was cooked perfectly, our guests had a choice on the menu and each table was served at the same time which gave a most professional impression. Glasses were replenished regularly and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. We never felt rushed, even at the end of the evening’s celebrations when it was well past everyone’s bedtime, the staff just gracefully got on with their work inconspicuously.
Our whole stay was so enjoyable – there were 40 plus in our party and most of them stayed at the hotel for about three days. About half of our guests travelled from England and other parts of Europe and everyone is still talking about what a great experience they had; the high standard of the food, the service and most especially, the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. This aspect is so important, and as long as that stays the same, then this is somewhere we will always want to come back to. A very special mention must go to the wedding planner Marie Janot. She is a consummate professional and was a pleasure to deal with. We live in England so virtually all our planning was done long distance and we found her helpful and prompt in her dealings with us. So many staff members were deserving of a mention, but suffice to say there are just too many to list! However, a few incidences give the flavour: Breda at breakfast was always so attentive, she made my son and daughter-in-law’s life a little easier by ensuring my young granddaughter had what she needed when she woke early in the morning, by putting milk and bananas in the room each day. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Christina and her colleagues on Reception, and one evening a young man on the bar staff in the Heights Lounge overheard us talking about a particular wine a friend had recommended for that evening’s meal, which we thought was not available. He gently interrupted our conversation to inform us that it was indeed available and if we wished, we were welcome to taste it, and promptly let us do so. It was exactly what we were looking for so we changed our order. He didn’t have to bother, but he did, and we were impressed by his conscientiousness.
A very big ‘thank you’ once again to everyone at Aghadoe Heights who made our wedding day so special, just keep doing what you’re doing – we really can’t wait to go back! So there you have it – no complaints from me or my new husband – my daughter thinks that must be a first!”
